Tomorrow is a big day. Huge. Enormous. Ginormous (gigantic & enormous). Massive. Inevitable. I'm not talking about it being Leap Year Day either. That day is very special to me indeed, but that's not why it's a BIG day this particular Leap Year.
Nothing planned for the day now. At first a party but when I checked the weather channel, it says rain & cloudy all day. Oh great I should say. The pupil has struggled the last few days to exclude the glare of the sun but found it an impossible task. The light beams were harassing the brain like little fishes behind a handline with a sardine on the hook.
Cancel the outdoor party. Bad weather. Yes I did. Alas, I haven't had me a party in more years than I can remember.
I don't like father time. No, no, no! Never did. He's here for another visit. Although in my vanity, I feel that he has been kind to me. Here he comes & I'm not ready. Like an angry, malevolent wind blowing away cobwebs in the brain, rattling closed doors throwing open the windows of the mind.
Only a few more hours where I can bask in the youth of the 30's.
But wait, isn't 40 the new 20?
Oh lucky me, I think it is with benefits.
What I lack in stamina, I can now make up in technique.
What have I learned about myself all these years?
That I'm not the sort of moralizing bastard who'll step out of a shower just to take a piss.
