Every year, tourism industry partners suffer through the slow months of September/October/November in Belize. This year has been particularly hard on tourism on the island with the threat of Swine Flu, Economic Crisis, rainy weather etc.Just after Thanksgiving usually kick starts the long awaited lucrative Winter tourist season for us here on Caye Caulker and the next four months are when we are busiest.
I am happy to report that arrivals are starting to look promising for a good season.
My friend Cecelia Chamer (center) of Palmetto Bay Plantation Resort in Roatan, showed up two days ago to surprise me. It is the time of year when old friends start dropping by which I always love & look forward to. Rob (right) & Chicago Dan (left) are here again, repeat visitors & fans of Caye Caulker.Caye Caulker gets its fair share of major & minor celebrities, T.V. personalities, politicians, sports starts etc. for a little speck of sand and palm trees in Central America.
