Collecting Good Karma in Bad Weather

Christiane & I are on a mission to collect good karma so we organized a Christmas party for about 50 people on the roof top at Tina's Annex.
We spent the day before setting up the Christmas lights and a big tarp (just in case it rained) and then spent most of the following day - day of the party, setting up the tarp again, which had been ripped by the strong gusts during the night. None of the 15 or so- $38.95 rope lights we bought at the Chinese store worked the next day after the big rainstorm. More lights, more stringing, last minute arrangements and before it was even show time - the heavens opened up, the monsoons gathered, the dark clouds lingered and the incessant rain drops fell throughout the day & night.
Patrons who had bought tickets were not easily discouraged & showed up despite the heavy rain storm for the good food. All and the dishes that were given by generous donors were quickly devoured. We kept putting out more dishes and just as quickly they dissappeared. The bar kept busy.

Needless to say, the night turned out successful despite the fact that JAH didn't listen to our pleas for good weather.

All together we raised a little money to help with school books for the kids and a little will be given to the fire victims and a few hundred to Chocolate to help clean the North Side park.
To all who donated towards this fund raiser, a big THANK YOU.
